The fused foundry sand, also know as Nice Foundry Sand(NFS), is a kind of artificial foundry sand with granular appearance, high heat resistance, low heat dilating rate, which is mainly made of Al2O3 and through high temperature calcined, fused, prilling and selecting. NFS has lower cost and better performance than Chromite sand and zircon sand. It provides an effective way to improve the quality of the foundry with cost-down and less damage to the environment.
Yuanyang fused sand is made from high quality bauxite, melt formed by high-temperature furnace. It is a good refractory sand with refractoriness up to 1790 ℃. The refractoriness of Nice Foundry Sand is comparable with chromium ore, NFS are now replacing chromium sand in the casting field.
Fused sand for polishing use is a neutral material without acid corrosion on the polished pieces. It has no sharpness causing no damage to workpieces. Its smooth texture polished spherical surface is a protection. NFS is fugitive without bond and polished pieces will not stick above the polished product. The polished product looks great with smooth and glossy surface.
The 5-10 mesh polishing foundry sand is a large particle sand with diameter 2-4 mm, dark brown color, smooth surface, moderate hardness, high toughness, good self-sharpening, and low consumption. It can be recycled used for polishing and cleaning of copper and aluminum.
